Briefly Particular the Fearsome four
The 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th are consistently ranked by the USPGA as some of the hardest on the tour. Depending on the weather they can range from being very difficult to nigh on impossible. Heroism is needed at every corner. The three longest par 4s are to be found in this stretch and are all knee knockers.
The back nine is a bear in terms of length. At 3525yd (3220m) it's made all the more difficult by the raging wind that often sweeps in from the sea. The two par 3s measure over 200yd (183m), with the 17th perilously close to the cliffs. And both the par 5s are over 545yd (498m) - you need immense power and courage to reach the green in 2 shots.
