Pebble Beach Hole by hole

Championship tees: 6799 yards, Par 72, USGA rating 75.

1st hole
(Champ 373yd Par 4) Watch out for the subtly sloping green. Like all the greens it falls towards the sea.

2nd hole
(Champ 502yd Par 5)
Make sure you clear the large gorge in front of the green.

3rd hole
(Champ 388yd Par 4) Don't overshoot the green because it slopes down into thick rough.

4th hole
(Champ 327yd Par 4)
You mustn't go right as there is a sheer drop to the beach.

5th hole
(Champ 166yd Par 3) Leave your approach shot short of the flag - the green slopes severely from back to front.

6th hole
(Champ 516yd Par 5) Play up the left side all the way to the hole, as the fairway slopes right towards the cliffs.

7th hole
(Champ 107yd Par 3) You must hit the green, as sand and the ocean await any miss-hit.

8th hole
(Champ 431yd Par 4)
Keep away from the cliffs on the right.

9th hole
(Champ 464yd Par 4) Beware of the ocean on the right and the bunkers on the left.

10th hole
(Champ 426yd Par 4)
Be content if you're in the bunker on the left as the Pacific awaits your ball on the right.

11th hole
(Champ 384yd Par 4) Don't slice - there's out of bounds down the right.

12th hole
(Champ 202yd Par 3)
Aim for the right half of the green as it slopes away to the left.

13th hole
(Champ 392yd Par 4) Play your approach to a spot below the hole, because the green slopes viciously.

14th hole
(Champ 565yd Par 5) The key to this hole is club selection. An approach shot plays about a club longer than it appears.

15th hole
(Champ 397yd Par 4)
Play straight as trees line the fairway on both sides.

16th hole
(Champ 402yd Par 4) To avoid an undesirable downhill-sidehill lie, don't be too long off the tee.

17th hole
(Champ 209yd Par 3) The green stands on a small peninsula so watch out for the swirling wind.

18th hole
(Champ 548yd Par 5) Beware of the drop into the ocean all down the left.
